The
Anasazi,
Apache, Hualapai, Havasupai, Hohokam,
Mogollon,
Salado,
Sinauga, and
Tohono O'odham, Yavapai, and
Yuma Peoples lay the foundation for survival in
the Desert Southwest and the mountains of what is now Arizona. The
Hohokam
created the
Casa Grande (ancient ruins near Coolidge AZ.)
They are probably some of the first inhabitants of the Phoenix Metro
area. The Papago (Tohono
O'odham)
are believed to be direct descendants of
the Hohokam.
